In order to ensure safety of the passengers, North Central Railway has taken the initiative of implementing Mobile Train Radio Communication which would provide better communication between the driver and the control room. The work is already in progress and is expected to bring a sea change in the history of communication technology in the Indian Railways.

Mobile Train Radio Communication System would use GSM/R technology is proposed to be provided on Rajdhani route New Delhi-Mughalsarai and Palwal-Jhansi section coming under the jurisdiction of North Central Railway.This will facilitate instant communication of train crew with control centre and station master, thus enhancing safety and confidence in the train operating staff. This will also enable maintenance of staff and officers deputed at different locations to communicate instantly with each other, thereby enhancing the system efficiency manifold.
