Railway started special trains ...

Indian Railways has started operating special trains on busy routes to carry passengers stranded by strike of crew members of national air carrier Air India. Starting Thursday, railways are operating two pairs of trains from New Delhi to Mumbai, and from New Delhi to Kolkata. A pair of special trains will also be run between Mumbai and Hyderabad from Friday.

The special trains are equivalent to Rajdhani Express trains of railways and fully air-conditioned. “will keep watch on the waiting list of the trains and attach additional coaches to clear extra rush subject to operational feasibility and availability of coaching stock. All zonal railways have been directed to take necessary steps to clear extra rush,” a release stated on Thursday.
More than 800 pilots of Air India are on strike from Wednesday, resulting in cancellation of 100 flights.
