PNR Status Enquiry Checking machines in mumbai stations

MUMBAI : Central Railway (CR) has decided to instal pnr status checker machine at Dadar , Kalyan
and Thane stations . The move will benefit passengers , especially senior
citizens and disabled , who have to stand in long queue to check pnr status.

CR will also open a pnr status enquiry counter at the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in
Kurla within a month .  Both the decisions were taken
during a meeting of CR officials with Membersof Parliament (MPs) on Wednesday .
Thane MP Anand Paranjpe welcomed the decision to open a pnr status enquiry counter .
"It is the only terminus on CR which have no pnr status enquiry counter."

Chief PRO of CR VA Malegaonkar said , "The general manager has assured the MP
that the administration will consider their pnr status enquiry counter demands."
The MPs also sought to know the status of the foot overbridge (FOB) and road
overbridge (ROB) being constructed at Vikhroli station .

Raut also demanded that the administration should set-up a Railway Museum in
Mumbai , instead of Lonavala or Pune . He said , "Mumbai being the commercial
capital is the hub of railway . Besides, this is the city where the first train
ran in India ."
Paranjpe suggested that the railway should also start suburban services between
Diva-Panvel and Diva-Vasai . It should also connect Kalyan with Panvel and
Vasai , he added .
